Today, July 10th was the day that we began our trip out west. I woke up at about 7:00 am and got dressed and ate. I made sure I had all of my things before we met at the school. At the school, I met up with Cole, Paige, Steven, and Mr. Northup to ride to the airport. We listened to a lot of classic rock and guessed the names of the songs. We stopped at Chick-fil-a to get some lunch and I had a chicken sandwich. After that, we headed to the Columbus International Airport and we unloaded our bags from the vehicles. We parked at the park-and-ride, took a shuttle to the airport, and began the process of getting ready for our flight.
We then proceeded to print our boarding passes, weigh and deliver our checked bags, and go through security. After some drinks and snacks at Starbucks, we boarded our first flight to Austin. Our flight lasted a 2 and a half hours, in which I took the opportunity to nap during most of the flight. We arrived in Austin for our layover but had to wait 45 minutes for our next flight, so we got sandwiches and tacos. This flight also lasted about two and a half hours. Finally we arrived in Denver Colorado. On our way to get our bags we nearly got lost on the train. We finally got our bags and went to rent SUVs for the trip. We waited awhile before we had to board a bus to get to the cars. We had about an hour car ride to the hotel outside of Denver. On our way to the hotel, there were these cool light displays by the road. When we arrived we worked on our daily blogs and went to bed. The next day we were going to hike and head to Casper Wyoming. A great start to the trip.
